Syracuse Police Officers Involved In Shooting Knife Wielding Man ID'd

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Police have identified the police officer who shot a man as he threatened the officers with a knife.

Officer Chad King and Sgt. Jason Wells, responded to a stabbing call at the Madison Towers apartments Sunday after a man said his roommate stabbed him.

67 year old Joseph Evans confronted the officers still holding the knife and that's when King shot at Evans. Wells also shot at Evans but used a less lethal weapon, police did not identify.

Wells was involved in the fatal shooting of Steve Smith in September of last year.

Both officer are on administrative leave as investigation continues.
