Syracuse University On The List Of Worst Colleges For Free Speech

Philadelphia, P.A. - The Foundation for Individual Rights Education has released it's 2019 List of the worst colleges for free speech and Syracuse University is on that list!

They put S.U. on the list because of how S.U. handled the Theta Tau Fraternity controversy last year.

Zack Greenberg spokesperson for FIRE says its puzzling that the University punished Theta Thau Fraternity so harshly. No one had complained who was at the event, that they were harmed by the video.

Greenberg says its ironic that this happened on the S.U. campus, because they even have the "First Amendment" written on the side of the Newhouse School of Communications.

Some frat members from Theta Tau are appealing the ruling by S.U.
