SU Shuts Down Fraternity Over Offensive Videos

Syracuse University has suspended a fraternity after videos surfaced showing racist, sexist behavior.

 University Chancellor Kent Syverud said  SU chapter of Theta Tau exhibited offensive behavior that he described as racists, anti semitic, homphobic, sexist and hostile to the disabled. 

According to Syverud, all of the fraternity's activities were suspended when the college confirmed the video.

Syverud said this conduct is "deeply harmful and contrary to the values and community standards they expect of their students.There is absolutely no place at Syracuse University for behavior or language that degrades any individual or group’s race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity, disability or religious beliefs,”

He said evidence was turned over the school's Department of Public Safety, they will investigate.
