In spite of the heat -- more people showed up yesterday to the Fair than any other first Monday, ever. 90,244 people enjoyed the Fair yesterday. Fair Officials say that more than 17,550 people were in Chevy Court last night to see Smokey Robinson.
It's going to be hot and humid again, today. We have the makings for what could be the hottest day ever out at the Fair.
Today is also the second of now three Senior Days where anyone over the age of 60 can get in for free.
In keeping with the theme of First responders, today will honor members of the fire and other emergency services. They get in for free today with an ID and will be honored at various ceremonies and a special parade at 6:00 p.m.
One of Motown’s best-ever groups, the Temptations, returns this afternoon to Chevy Court at 2:00 p.m. The Dropkick Murphys will be shipping up for their first-ever Fair appearance at 8:00 p.m. at Chevy Court. Over on the West-End folks can dance the night away to Ruby Shooz on the Experience Stage at 8 pm.
