The yearly TIME Magazine's Person of the Year issue comes out every December, and when a reporter asked President Trump who he thought should receive this years acknowledgement, his answer was simple...
"Trump."
āI donāt know, that is up to Time magazine,ā Trump said, referring to himself in third-person. "I canāt imagine anybody else other than Trump, can you imagine anybody else other than Trump?ā
Last year, Trump told the media that he was "probably" going to be given the 2017 distinction, but later said that he personally chose to decline because it "probably is no good."
After President Trump opted out, a fake 2017 TIME Magazine photo with Trump was framed and hung in the halls of at least five of his golf clubs.
āThis cover ā dated March 1, 2009 ā looks like an impressive memento from Trumpās pre-presidential career,ā The Washington Postās David A. Fahrenthold reported. āBut that wasnāt true. The Time cover is a fake. There was no March 1, 2009, issue of Time magazine. And there was no issue at all in 2009 that had Trump on the cover.ā
