A 21-year-old man from Clay, Caleb Wiggins, is facing several felony charges following his arrest on Wednesday (April 22) for allegedly possessing and promoting child sexual abuse material. The charges stem from an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force into the transmission of child sexual exploitation material online.

According to State Police, Wiggins was charged with two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and one count of possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony. The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the State Police Computer Crime Unit in Troop D, the Troop D Bureau of Criminal Investigation in North Syracuse, the New York State Police ICAC Unit in Albany, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Authorities reported that Wiggins was found with video and photo files depicting child sexual abuse material. The exact number of files is still under review by digital forensics. Wiggins was arraigned in the Town of Clay court on Wednesday evening.

This case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat the online transmission of child exploitation materials. As the investigation continues, authorities are working to ensure justice is served.
