In Utica, the Johnson Park Center is hosting food distribution events this week to support families in need. The first event is scheduled for today (Tuesday, April 14) from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the second event will take place on Friday (April 17) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
These events aim to help low-income families, seniors, and individuals in the Mohawk Valley region. Available items include fish, venison, fruits, vegetables, and boxed goods. First-time visitors are welcome but must bring a form of government-issued ID, such as a driver's license or social security card.
Returning visitors need to bring their JPC Food Pantry Card. The center emphasizes the importance of meeting the USDA's income eligibility guidelines, which can be found on the Food Bank of Central New York's website.
The Johnson Park Center continues to play a vital role in providing essential resources to the community, ensuring that those in need have access to nutritious food options.
