Investigation Underway After Bridgeport House Fire

An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of a devastating house fire in Bridgeport that left one person injured. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening (March 24) when emergency personnel responded to reports of an explosion and subsequent fire at a residence on Areopagitica Avenue.

According to WSYR-TV, the fire was reported around 6:56 p.m., with video footage showing the home exploding and a man on fire running out of the building. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of burns, but no other injuries were reported. The house suffered extensive damage and is considered a total loss.

Emergency crews, including firefighters and police, quickly arrived at the scene and worked to control the blaze. As reported by Daily Dispatch, smoke continued to billow from the structure as of 7:40 p.m., and various emergency personnel remained on-site to manage the situation.
