Manlius Police Arrest Man for Fraudulent Auto Sales Scheme

The Manlius Police Department arrested Ulises Hernandez Jr. on Tuesday (February 5) for allegedly operating a fraudulent vehicle sales business at Puma Auto Sales LLC in Kirkville, New York. Hernandez Jr. is accused of selling cars on Facebook Marketplace at unusually low prices, accepting payments through cash, checks, Zelle, and CashApp.

According to police, victims received vehicles without proper titles or registration and faced delays in delivery, sometimes waiting weeks or months. Hernandez Jr. allegedly used multiple aliases, such as Mike Lucas and Jonathan Snyder, and operated under various business names, including 68 Motors & Cycle Inc and Affordable Auto LLC.

The investigation, which lasted nearly a year, involved multiple agencies, including the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office, New York State Attorney General's Office, and New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Division of Field Investigations. Hernandez Jr. faces several felony charges, including a scheme to defraud in the first degree and multiple counts of grand larceny.
