Crews Use 28,800 Gallons of Pond Water for Pompey Fire

Emergency crews in Pompey, New York, used approximately 28,800 gallons of pond water to extinguish a garage fire on the evening of Sunday (January 18). The Tully Fire Department, in collaboration with the Pompey Hill Fire District, responded to the fire located on Number 4 Road West. Initially, the Tully Fire Department was on standby at the Pompey Hill Fire District station but was later redirected to assist with the fire.

According to CNY Central, the garage was situated about 100 feet from the main residence on the property. To combat the blaze, the Tully Fire Department coordinated the water supply to tankers from nearby departments, including Manlius, Delphi Falls, and Fabius.

The cause of the fire and any potential injuries have not been disclosed by the Tully Fire Department. This incident highlights the importance of local fire departments working together to manage emergencies effectively.
