The Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District has appointed Dr. Magda Parvey as the new Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Parvey will take over from Superintendent Craig Tice, who announced his retirement during the current school year. Dr. Parvey is expected to begin her role in spring 2026.
Dr. Parvey brings over 20 years of experience in educational leadership, including 13 years in central office administration. She currently serves as the Superintendent of Andover Public Schools in Massachusetts, a position she has held since 2021. Her extensive background also includes leadership roles in high-performing districts such as New Rochelle, New York, Middletown, Connecticut, and Chapel Hill-Carrboro, North Carolina.
According to the Fayetteville-Manlius Board of Education, Dr. Parvey's experience, values, and vision align well with the district's needs. Sarah Fitzgerald, Board of Education President, stated, "We are confident that Dr. Parvey’s proven track record in curriculum innovation, fiscal stewardship, and community engagement makes her the right leader for F-M’s future."
Dr. Parvey expressed her excitement about joining the Fayetteville-Manlius community, stating, "I look forward to listening, learning, and working in partnership with students, staff, and families as we write the district’s next chapter together."
The Board will announce an interim superintendent plan soon to ensure a smooth transition. Dr. Parvey will begin meeting with staff, students, families, and community members in the coming weeks.
