The City of Oswego is bracing for significant snowfall over the next few days. Mayor Robert Corradino assured residents that the city is well-prepared to handle the upcoming weather conditions. This preparation comes in response to forecasts predicting several feet of snow, adding to the accumulation from recent snowstorms.

Mayor Corradino stated, "The City of Oswego is ready for anything that Mother Nature can bring us." The city's Department of Public Works (DPW) employs approximately 90 staff members, ensuring there is no shortage of snow plow drivers. The DPW uses a salt brine mixture, recommended by New York State, to treat the roads during snowfalls.

In addition to the DPW, the city's Police and Fire Departments are on standby to address any emergencies that may arise during the winter storm. One concern for the city is managing the "snow load," which refers to the amount of snow that accumulates and where it can be safely stored. Mayor Corradino mentioned that if the snow load becomes problematic, the city can seek assistance from the county.

According to CNY Central, the city is taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents during the anticipated heavy snowfall.
