The Syracuse University men's basketball team is set to return to action today, hosting the Clemson Tigers at the JMA Wireless Dome. The game marks the start of Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play for the Orange. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m., and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
Syracuse has not played since their victory over Stonehill College on December 22, which improved their season record to nine wins and four losses. The Orange have shown strong defensive skills, holding opponents to an average of 64.8 points per game, ranking them twenty-fifth in Division I.
Key players for Syracuse include senior William Kyle III, who has excelled defensively with 43 blocks, ranking second in Division I. Junior Naithan George leads the team with 64 assists and has scored 22 points in consecutive games. Senior Nate Kingz leads in three-pointers and has been a consistent scorer recently. Freshmen Sadiq White Jr. and Kiyan Anthony have also made significant contributions, with Anthony averaging 10.9 points per game.
The Orange have performed well at home, with six players averaging double-digit scoring at the Dome. According to Cuse.com, Freeman leads the team with an average of 19.3 points per game at home.
Clemson, the visiting team, will be looking to challenge Syracuse's strong home performance. The game promises to be an exciting start to the ACC season for both teams.
