On Sunday (December 28), Ithaca police arrested Jason M. Noble, a 43-year-old man, after he threatened officers with a knife during an incident at a downtown apartment building. Officers responded to a noise complaint on the 100 block of East Green Street around 1:33 a.m. and encountered Noble, who had multiple active warrants for his arrest.
According to ithaca.com, Noble's existing charges included resisting arrest, forgery in the second degree, criminal impersonation in the second degree, and criminal mischief. During the arrest, Noble threatened officers with a knife and consumed an unknown white powdery substance.
Lieutenant Christopher J. Cady reported that a brief physical altercation occurred, but no officers were injured. Medical personnel evaluated Noble for ingesting the substance and for minor injuries sustained during the altercation.
Following the incident, Noble faced additional charges, including menacing, resisting arrest, tampering with physical evidence, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. He was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and is currently held at Tompkins County Jail without bail.
