A search is underway for six suspects involved in a break-in at Perfection Nail Salon in Syracuse. The incident occurred early Monday (December 15) when the suspects used a rock to smash the front door of the salon located on Park Street. Surveillance footage shows three individuals in hooded jackets and ski masks rummaging through the cash register before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects were seen running southbound on Park Street after the burglary, as reported by InformNNY.com.
The Syracuse Police Department is actively investigating the incident and is asking anyone with information to contact their Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222. It remains unclear if this burglary is connected to a series of recent smash-and-grab burglaries at a shopping plaza in DeWitt, where four businesses were similarly targeted. According to Syracuse.com, the DeWitt burglaries involved suspects using a car jack to break into Wings Over Syracuse, No. 1 Kitchen, Honeycomb Bakery, and Arquette & Associates, Realtors.
Authorities are working to determine if there is a link between the two incidents. The DeWitt Police Department is also seeking public assistance in identifying suspects captured on surveillance cameras in the DeWitt burglaries.
