A man has been charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter following a fatal crash in New Haven. Dylan M. Mannise, 24, was arrested last Monday in connection with the incident that occurred in September. The crash resulted in the death of 60-year-old Jerry Davis, a Navy veteran and senior auditor at Constellation Energy Group.

According to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, the crash took place on September 26 at around 5:30 p.m. Davis was riding his 2017 Harley-Davidson Road Glide west on Route 1 when Mannise's 2018 Chevrolet Silverado collided with him at an intersection. Mannise was driving north from Mack Road and crossing Route 1 onto Pleasant Point Drive when the accident occurred.

Davis was initially taken to Oswego Hospital before being transferred to Upstate University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Mannise suffered minor injuries in the crash. He has since been arraigned in CAP Court.

Syracuse.com reported that Davis's death has deeply affected the community, and Mannise now faces serious legal consequences.
