Man Accused of Murdering Aunt Appears in Court

Kristen Baxter, a 31-year-old from Clay is set to appear in court on Friday (December 12) after being indicted by a grand jury for the alleged murder of his aunt, Christa Baxter. The incident occurred on July 3, when the New York State Police responded to a call at 8021B Marlin Drive regarding an unconscious woman. Despite life-saving efforts, 58-year-old Christa Baxter was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case was initially treated as a suspicious death, but an autopsy later confirmed it as a homicide due to blunt force trauma. Kristen Baxter was arrested on October 2 and charged with second-degree murder. He is currently held at the Onondaga County Justice Center on a one-million-dollar bond.

According to Syracuse.com, Kristen Baxter is accused of inflicting fatal blunt force injuries to his aunt's head and compression injuries to her neck. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities encourage anyone with additional information to contact the New York State Police. Kristen Baxter's next court appearance is scheduled for Friday (December 12).
