Six people have been displaced following a fire that occurred on Wednesday (December 3) at 726 North Salina Street in Syracuse. The Syracuse Fire Department responded to the scene around 4 p.m. after a passerby reported seeing smoke. Fortunately, no one was inside the building at the time, and there were no injuries reported.
Firefighters discovered the fire in the gap between the building's ceiling and roof. While the fire itself did not cause significant damage, the building suffered from smoke and water damage. According to CNY Central, the fire department plans to remove ceiling panels to investigate the cause of the fire.
The affected individuals may need to find temporary housing as the investigation and repairs proceed.
