Two teenagers, Alijah Barroso, 16, and Noelle Cummings, 17, have been indicted for the murder of 22-year-old Juan Rodriguez in Syracuse. The incident occurred on June 8 on Westmoreland Avenue, where Rodriguez was fatally shot around 6:10 p.m. Both teens face charges of second-degree murder and three counts of second-degree possession of a weapon, according to an indictment filed in Onondaga County Court.

The two suspects were already facing charges for a separate incident that took place on July 25, involving an attempted murder on Lincoln Park Drive. During this incident, Barroso and Cummings allegedly fired multiple shots, with 20-year-old Dewitt Rohadfox acting as the getaway driver. Rohadfox, who is not implicated in the June homicide, remains in custody, while Barroso and Cummings are held at the Hillbrook Juvenile Detention Center.

The Syracuse Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division Homicide Unit conducted an extensive investigation into Rodriguez's death, involving numerous interviews and the execution of several search warrants. Evidence gathered during the investigation led to the indictment of Barroso and Cummings.

The teens are scheduled to be arraigned on the new charges on Wednesday (December 3). Their legal proceedings will continue as the case develops, and they remain in custody pending further court appearances.
