Syracuse Falls to Kansas, Extends Losing Streak

The Syracuse University men's basketball team suffered its second consecutive loss, falling to the Kansas Jayhawks 71-60 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Tuesday (November 25). The Orange, who began the season with a four-game winning streak, now stand at 4-2.

Tyler Betsey led Syracuse with 12 points off the bench, while J.J. Starling contributed 10 points. Sadiq White Jr., Nate Kingz, and William Kyle III each added nine points. The Orange struggled with shooting, hitting only 32% from the field and 30% from three-point range. Syracuse also faced challenges at the free-throw line, making just 13 of 23 attempts.

Kansas (5-2) showcased a balanced offensive attack, with Tre White scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Flory Bidunga added 13 points and 14 rebounds, while Melvin Council Jr. and Bryson Tiller contributed 14 and 11 points, respectively. The Jayhawks outrebounded Syracuse 49-29, which helped them secure the win.

Syracuse was within two points at 52-50 before Kansas went on an 11-point run to pull away. Kansas led 34-25 at halftime, holding Syracuse to 31% shooting in the first half.

The Orange will look to bounce back in their next game against Iowa State today (November 26).
