Two Teens Arrested After Stolen Car Crash in Syracuse

Two teenagers were arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle on Interstate 81 in Syracuse on Saturday (November 15). According to Syracuse police, the 15-year-old and 16-year-old suspects crashed a stolen Hyundai into the median and then fled the scene on foot. Officers quickly apprehended one of the teens, while the other was captured near Doctor King Elementary School. During the arrest, police used force on one of the teens, which is now under review as per department policy.

Sgt. Thomas Blake, a spokesperson for Syracuse police, confirmed the incident and stated that the use of force is being reviewed. The teenagers are facing charges related to the theft and crash of the vehicle. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about vehicle thefts involving young individuals in the area.

The police department is expected to complete its review of the use of force in the coming weeks. Further details about the charges against the teens will be released as the investigation progresses.
