Syracuse has welcomed a new member to its Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. On Thursday (November 6), Stephanie Pasquale was sworn in to the board after being appointed by Mayor Ben Walsh. Pasquale's appointment comes as the board undergoes changes following the end of Commissioner Walt Dixie's term and the resignation of Calvin Corriders Sr.

Mayor Walsh also appointed Rickey Brown to the board, with his swearing-in scheduled for a later date. The changes in the board's composition come amid ongoing concerns about the Syracuse Housing Authority (SHA).

Calvin Corriders Sr. recently left his position as chairman, with his tenure marked by tenant advocacy for improved housing conditions and better communication about projects like the Children Rising Center. Mayor Walsh expressed gratitude for Corriders' service and reiterated his commitment to advancing housing projects and providing quality housing for all SHA residents.
