A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support the Sears family from Volney who suffered a devastating loss when a fire destroyed their home and claimed the lives of their three dogs, Missy, Scout, and Peanut. The fire occurred on Halloween night while the family was out on a routine trip to the hardware store. Upon returning, they found their home engulfed in flames, leaving them with nothing but memories of their beloved pets and possessions.
Terry Sears expressed the overwhelming challenge of starting over, saying, "Starting over is like trying to find out what did we lose, where did we have it, you know what's left." Her husband, Chuck Sears, emphasized the importance of having an escape route for pets, stating, "Everything else can be replaced but there will never be another Peanut, another Missy, another Scout."
Currently, the family is staying at a hotel in Oswego, relying on the support of family and friends. The GoFundMe campaign, initiated by a close friend, aims to help the Sears family rebuild their lives. So far, the campaign has raised approximately $2,000.
