Massachusetts's Man Rescued After Getting Lost In Oswego County Woods

Town of Richland, N.Y. - A good outcome for a missing Hunter in Oswego County.

New York State Police say a 77-year-old Massachusetts man got lost in some woods in the Town of Richland, Wednesday November 5th, while he was hunting.

He called 911 around 4:30, to say he had been lost since 1:30, his cell phone was dying and he was stuck in a marshy area. After three hours of searching, by K9, drones and an individuals on the ground, the man was located, just .77 miles from his vehicle according to Troopers. The man was not injured and in good health.

In addition to the State Police, the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue Team, Wilderness Search and Rescue of Onondaga, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and Northern Oswego County Ambulance assisted in the search.
