A dog named Chance, who was found stabbed in Syracuse, has recovered and moved into a foster home. Chance was discovered on East Willow Street last Tuesday (October 21) and required emergency surgery due to severe blood loss from a stab wound to his neck. HumaneCNY, an animal shelter in Clay, treated him and announced his discharge from the hospital yesterday.

The Syracuse Police Department is actively investigating the incident but has not yet identified a suspect. They are seeking public assistance to find the person responsible for the attack. Cuse Pit Crew, a nonprofit animal advocacy group, is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Syracuse Police Department's Animal Cruelty Division at 315-442-5336. As Chance settles into his new foster home, the community continues to rally for justice and healing for the resilient canine.
