In Yates County, a serious accident occurred on Sunday (October 26) when a car collided with a horse and buggy, leaving three people with significant injuries. The incident took place around 2:34 p.m. on Six Corners Road in the Town of Barrington.

According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Alisha Wheeler from Dundee was driving southbound when her vehicle struck the buggy from behind. The impact caused substantial damage to both the car and the buggy, ejecting the buggy's occupants: 31-year-old Daniel Nolt, 25-year-old Linda Nolt, and a child. All three were airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment of their serious injuries. Unfortunately, the horse involved in the accident had to be euthanized due to its injuries.

Wheeler and her passenger, a child, were unharmed in the collision. Authorities have charged Wheeler with following too closely. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with assistance from several local emergency services, including Dundee Fire/Ambulance, Yates County Ambulance, and Mercy Flight, among others.

The section of Six Corners Road where the accident occurred was temporarily closed but has since reopened. The Yates County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
