In Syracuse, a non-profit group is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who stabbed a dog named Chance. The incident occurred on Tuesday (October 21) on East Willow Street. Chance, a brindle pit bull, was found in critical condition with a stab wound to the neck.

The Syracuse Police Department is seeking help from the public to solve this case. Chance was rushed to the Veterinary Medical Center of Central New York, where he underwent emergency surgery and received two blood transfusions. HumaneCNY is overseeing his treatment, which is expected to be extensive due to heart damage.

Cuse Pit Crew, an animal advocacy group, has announced a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. The group is urging anyone with information to contact the Syracuse Police Department’s Animal Cruelty Division at (315) 442-5336.

Local animal advocates are also calling for donations to help cover Chance’s medical expenses, which could range from $3,500 to $5,500. Contributions can be made to HumaneCNY, specifying that the donation is for Chance’s care.

Authorities hope that with the community's assistance, justice will be served and Chance will have the opportunity to recover and feel safe again.
