Destiny USA in Syracuse is celebrating its 35th anniversary today (October 15) with a special event at the Carousel Center. The celebration, taking place from 3 PM to 7 PM on the second level, offers free carousel rides, live entertainment, and giveaways, including commemorative t-shirts. Samantha Marra-Marshall, Director of Marketing at Destiny USA, expressed excitement about the milestone, saying, "This is our way of saying thank you to everyone who has supported us from the original Carousel Center days to today as Destiny USA."
The mall, originally opened as Carousel Center on October 15, 1990, featured 120 stores and a unique mix of retailers. At its heart was the beautifully restored antique carousel, Philadelphia Toboggan Company No. 18, which inspired the center's name. In 2012, the mall was rebranded as Destiny USA, transforming into one of the largest shopping destinations in the United States.
Destiny USA now offers a blend of shopping, dining, and entertainment, attracting millions of visitors annually. The event today is free and open to the public, inviting everyone to join in the festivities and celebrate the mall's rich history and community impact.
