Preparations are underway for the return of the Mile Marketplace in Syracuse, set to take place on Saturday, October 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held along the Onondaga Creekwalk in Lower Onondaga Park and promises a day full of activities and local engagement.
Organized by the City of Syracuse Department of Parks and Recreation, the marketplace will feature vendor booths from local artisans, crafters, food trucks, small businesses, and non-profit organizations. As reported by WSYR-TV, the event will also include a free Yard Tree Giveaway for property owners in Syracuse, offering a variety of tree species on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event will offer family-friendly activities, such as games and wellness activities, including Zumba, yoga, and a Creekwalk walking tour. Parks Commissioner Tony Williams emphasized the importance of the marketplace, stating, "This market is an opportunity to celebrate and support local talent and vendors, enjoy several of the city’s recreational assets, and strengthen the connections that make this neighborhood thrive," as noted by CNY Central.
Parking is available along Lower Onondaga Creek Park Drive and nearby streets, making it accessible for all attendees. The marketplace is free to attend and aims to inspire residents to engage with their community and embrace a healthier lifestyle.
