Syracuse Man Arrested for Role in Geddes Rec Hall Shooting

A 38-year-old man from Syracuse has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a shooting at the Lakeside Fire Department Recreation Hall in Geddes. The incident, which occurred on August 29, resulted in injuries to five individuals. According to the Town of Geddes Police Department, Wilfredo Lopez-Ramos was taken into custody without incident in Syracuse.

The shooting left four people with gunshot wounds, while a fifth person was injured during a struggle over a firearm. The victims include two women, aged 30 and 49, and two men, aged 29 and 61, all of whom sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Three of the victims have been discharged from the hospital, while the fourth remains under medical care.

Police have also charged Kelvin Rivera-Dejesus, 29, with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and criminal possession of a firearm. Rivera-Dejesus was injured in the right leg during the altercation. Authorities believe the shooting stemmed from ongoing disputes among party attendees.
