Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash in Manlius as 38-year-old Zachary Eberz from Camillus. The tragic accident occurred on Saturday night (September 13) on Kirkville Road North, near Green Lakes State Park. According to Chief Jason Cassalia of the Manlius Police Department, Eberz lost control of his motorcycle and veered off the eastbound shoulder.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene after a 911 call was made at approximately 10:35 p.m., although evidence suggests the crash happened around 9 p.m. Eberz was pronounced dead shortly after first responders reached the scene.
Investigators have determined that speed was a significant factor in the crash. The Kirkville and Fayetteville Fire Departments also responded to the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging any witnesses to come forward to assist in gathering more information about the crash.
