Police in Syracuse are investigating a recent discovery along the Creekwalk near the Inner Harbor. On Friday (September 12), officers responded to a call about a suspicious bag found in the area. Upon arrival, investigators discovered the bag contained what appeared to be internal organs.

After conducting a thorough investigation, police confirmed that the remains were from an animal, not a human. The scene has since been cleared, and authorities have assured the public that there is no threat to their safety. According to CNY Central, the Creekwalk is safe for public use.

The police have not yet identified who placed the bag in the area, and the investigation remains ongoing. The Creekwalk, a popular trail for walking and biking, is part of a larger plan to revitalize Syracuse's waterfront areas.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Syracuse Police Department.
