The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has announced that the Interstate 81 southbound off-ramp to Exit 95 in Cicero will be closed tonight (September 10) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. tomorrow morning. This closure is part of the ongoing I-81 Viaduct Project, which involves paving and striping work.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour, which directs traffic to Exit 7 (Bridgeport), then east on State Route 298, and finally to Interstate 481 northbound to reach Exit 95 (Northern Boulevard). According to CNY Central, the construction is weather-dependent, and drivers should be prepared for possible changes in schedule.

The NYSDOT urges motorists to drive responsibly in work zones, noting that fines are doubled for speeding. Repeated speeding violations in work zones could lead to the suspension of a driver's license. For more information and updates, drivers can visit the NYSDOT website or follow the I-81 Viaduct Project on social media.
