Preparations are in full swing at Oswego Speedway as crews transform the five-eighth mile asphalt track into the "Clay Palace" for the upcoming Super DIRT Week. On Monday (September 8), the first load of clay was placed on the track, marking the start of this massive transformation. More than 500 truckloads of clay will be used to cover the track, followed by the installation of a concrete barrier to maintain drainage and wall heights.
Super DIRT Week, known as "Racing’s Biggest Party," will take place from October 6 to 11, attracting thousands of race fans from across the United States and Canada. The event features top drivers from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, competing in series such as the Super DIRTcar Series, DIRTcar 358 Modified Series, DIRTcar Sportsman Series, and DIRTcar Pro Stock Series.
In addition to the thrilling races, Oswego will host a variety of entertainment events throughout the week. These include a Kick Off party at Lighthouse Lanes, a charity golf tournament benefiting the Ronald McDonald House, and a block party in downtown Oswego. Racing action begins on Wednesday with a parade through the city, followed by time trials and qualifying heats. The week culminates with the Billy Whittaker Cars 200, offering a record $53,000 top prize.
For those unable to attend in person, every lap of Super DIRT Week can be watched live on DIRTVision. Tickets are available online, and the event promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for racing fans.
