The popular Parade of Homes event in Central New York, organized by the Home Builders and Remodelers of Central New York, will not take place this year. The event, which allows people to tour high-end homes before they are sold, was canceled due to a shortage of available building lots in the area. Last year, the event drew 10,000 visitors to the Timber Lakes golfing community in Lysander.

The Parade of Homes has been a significant attraction, showcasing luxury homes and the latest in home design and trends. It typically features homes built by local builders like J. Alberici & Sons, JMG Custom Homes, and Mark Antony Homes, among others. The event also includes features like decorating tips, landscaping trends, and even boat tours along the Seneca River.

Timber Banks, the usual venue for the Parade, is known for its Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course and scenic walking trails. However, the demand for new homes has outpaced the availability of lots, leading to the event's cancellation this year. According to CNY Central, this cancellation reflects the growing demand for housing in the region.

The Home Builders and Remodelers of Central New York, an association dedicated to providing homes, education, and economic opportunities, expressed disappointment but emphasized the current market conditions. As the demand for new homes continues to rise, the association and builders are looking for alternative ways to showcase their work and connect with potential buyers.
