Syracuse Police Continue Probe into Weekend Shooting

Syracuse police are actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning (September 7) in the Park Avenue neighborhood. Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple gunshots around 12:20 a.m. in the 900 block of Park Avenue, near Playmakers Sports Bar. Upon arrival, they learned that a 27-year-old man had been dropped off at Upstate University Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The victim is currently in stable condition and is expected to survive. As the investigation remains ongoing, authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Syracuse Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222.

According to CNY Central, the police are still gathering details about the incident. Similarly, Syracuse.com reports that the police spokesperson, Sgt. Thomas Blake, confirmed the victim's stable condition and survival expectations. WSYR-TV also notes that the investigation is ongoing and encourages public assistance in providing any relevant information.
