Central New York drivers are feeling the impact of rising gas prices, with the cost of a gallon of regular fuel reaching $3.19, according to AAA. This marks an increase of six cents over the past week and nine cents compared to last month. The state average in New York is slightly higher at $3.26, while the national average stands at $3.20.

The recent price surge is attributed to flooding at a Midwest refinery, which has disrupted supply and contributed to the price hike. Other states in the region are experiencing similar increases, with Vermont at $3.19 and Connecticut at $3.21.

Drivers are advised to plan their fuel purchases carefully as prices may continue to fluctuate due to ongoing supply issues. AAA updates county average gas prices daily to reflect these changes.
