Syracuse's Common Council has approved the sale of a former fire station on East Fayette Street, paving the way for a $900,000 renovation project. The old station, which has been unused for over a decade, will be transformed into a mixed-use building featuring four apartments and a restaurant.

The Syracuse-based company JF Real Estate is spearheading the project. The renovation will see the apartments located on the second floor, while the restaurant will occupy the first floor. Although the developers have not disclosed a completion date, the project promises to breathe new life into the historic building.

This development is part of a broader trend of repurposing old structures in Syracuse, aiming to revitalize the area and provide new housing and dining options for residents. The transformation of the fire station is expected to contribute positively to the local community and economy.
