Two former students and a teenager have been charged with burglary following a break-in at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School in Oneida County. The incident occurred overnight on July 28, when the suspects entered the school and caused damage inside. School employees discovered the damage the next morning and identified the suspects through surveillance footage.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office has charged 18-year-olds Aydin Varela and Aubrey Zabele, along with a 16-year-old boy, with third-degree burglary, a class D felony. According to Syracuse.com, Zabele was arraigned and released pending his return to Verona Town Court. The juvenile was released to a guardian and will appear in Oneida County Court Youth Part at a later date.

Varela remains at large and is believed to have left the state. An arrest warrant has been requested for him through Verona Town Court, as reported by WKTV.
