Free bottled water is being distributed to Oswego residents affected by a boil water advisory. The distribution is taking place at the James P. Cullinan Ice Rink, located at 281 W 5th Street, from Tuesday (August 12) through Wednesday (August 13), between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., while supplies last. The City of Oswego, in collaboration with the American Red Cross, is organizing the drive-through distribution to ensure residents have access to safe drinking water.
The advisory was issued following a water main break, and parts of the city have been under this advisory since last week. Mayor Robert A. Corradino emphasized the importance of providing immediate access to safe drinking water. Each household is limited to two cases of bottled water, and residents are advised to enter through the Kingsford Park School parking lot via the Niagara Street entrance.
For residents unable to reach the distribution site, assistance is available by calling (315) 343-2161. According to WSYR-TV, the advisory is expected to remain in place through at least Friday (August 15). The collaboration between the City of Oswego and the American Red Cross aims to ensure residents have access to safe drinking water during the advisory period.
CNY Central also reported that residents can call for assistance if they are unable to reach the distribution center.
