This marks a decrease of one cent over the past week and a four-cent drop compared to one month ago. The current state average stands at $3.17, while the national average is slightly lower at $3.14.
As reported by AAA, the national average for gas is $3.138 as of Monday (August 11). Prices vary by state, with Vermont at $3.102, New Jersey at $3.061, and Hawaii at a much higher $4.464. In California, the average price remains notably higher at $4.500, reflecting regional differences in fuel costs.
Despite these slight decreases, gas prices continue to fluctuate based on various factors, including crude oil prices and seasonal demand. Motorists are advised to stay informed about local gas prices to manage their fuel expenses effectively.
