Anheuser-Busch is investing $9 million into its Baldwinsville plant to enhance its brewing capabilities and expand production. Announced on Tuesday (August 5), the investment will fund upgrades to the plant's refrigeration system, maintenance of brewing equipment, and prepare the facility to produce more non-beer products, such as NÜTRL Vodka Seltzer and Skimmers Vodka Iced Tea.
The Baldwinsville brewery, the largest in New York state, has been a key player in Anheuser-Busch's operations since its acquisition in the early 1980s. The plant currently employs about 500 workers and has been a significant contributor to the local economy. Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth emphasized the company's commitment to supporting local communities, stating, "Nothing goes better together than American beers and American careers" (Syracuse.com).
This investment is part of Anheuser-Busch's "Brewing Futures initiative," which aims to invest over $300 million in U.S. facilities to create and sustain manufacturing jobs across the country. The Baldwinsville plant, which produces around 75 different beverages, including both traditional beers and flavored alcohol beverages, has seen nearly $90 million in investments over the past five years.
The upgrades are expected to boost the local economy by creating new jobs and enhancing the plant's production capabilities. Anheuser-Busch continues to innovate and adapt to the growing demand for non-beer products in the alcohol market (LocalSYR).
