Pedestrian Killed by Dump Truck in Syracuse

A pedestrian died after being hit by a dump truck near Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse on Thursday (July 31). Syracuse Police found the man, who has not been identified, badly injured near East Adams and South Townsend streets around 7:01 a.m. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he later died, according to Syracuse.com.

The driver of the dump truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police. The incident is still under investigation, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Syracuse Police Department Traffic Division at (315) 442-5130.

This tragic accident occurred just weeks after two Syracuse University graduate students were killed in a similar incident involving a dump truck on East Adams Street, about 10 blocks from Thursday's accident. The previous victims were identified as Wanshan Li, 23, and Aoyo Cui, 24, both international students from China, as reported by LocalSYR.
