A winning lottery ticket worth $17 million was sold at Polge Wine and Liquors on West Seneca Turnpike in Syracuse. The ticket, purchased on Wednesday (July 23) at around 3:32 p.m., matched the numbers 6, 8, 22, 29, 37, 50, with a Bonus Number of 11. The winner can choose between a lump sum payment of approximately $8.8 million or 26 annuity payments over 25 years, totaling $17 million. The lump sum option will have a state tax withholding of $966,137, while the annuity payments will have a total of $1,853,000 withheld in state taxes, according to New York State Gaming Commission spokesperson Brad Maione.

The odds of winning the New York Lotto jackpot are 1 in 45,057,474. The winner has not yet come forward but has up to one year from the drawing date to claim the prize. The store owner, Tim Polge, mentioned that many people have been inquiring about the winner. Syracuse.com reported that the news has generated significant excitement in the community.

The New York Lottery conducts drawings every Wednesday and Saturday at about 8:15 p.m. According to WHEC, if there are multiple winning tickets, the prize will be split evenly among the winners.
