The 54th annual Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival kicks off today (July 25) in Downtown Syracuse. This free event will run through Sunday (July 27), offering a vibrant showcase of artists, craftspeople, street performers, and musicians. The festival is centered at the intersection of East Onondaga, East Jefferson, and Montgomery Streets, with an information booth located in front of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

Visitors can explore a wide array of arts and crafts, including ceramics, sculpture, photography, painting, woodwork, jewelry, and textiles. According to WSYR-TV, around 140 artists from 22 states and Mexico will be participating.

The festival also features performing arts, with daily entertainment ranging from music performances to puppet shows. Families can engage in interactive activities, such as creating three-dimensional masterpieces and contributing to a collaborative mural inspired by Nancy Friedemann-Sánchez’s exhibition at the Everson Museum of Art.

On Saturday (July 26), the Stay Fresh Chalk Jam will see over 50 artists transforming sidewalks into colorful canvases. Food vendors will be on-site, offering a diverse selection of summer refreshments.

The Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival, ranked 11th best Contemporary Craft Show in the U.S. by Sunshine Artist Magazine, promises to be a highlight of the summer, drawing thousands of visitors to celebrate creativity and community. For more details, visit the festival's official website.
