Starting today (Monday, July 21), motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 81 in Syracuse, will experience a lane reduction due to bridge work. The New York State Department of Transportation has announced that the highway will be reduced to one lane between Exit 18 (Adams St./Harrison St.) and the off-ramp to Interstate 690 westbound. This lane reduction will occur on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is expected to last through Thursday, July 31.

The construction activities are weather-dependent and may change based on conditions. Drivers are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones, as fines are doubled for speeding. Multiple speeding violations in a work zone could lead to the suspension of a driver's license.
