The Syracuse Nationals, the largest car show in the Northeast, is set to begin at the New York State Fairgrounds on Friday (July 18) and run through Sunday (July 20). With tens of thousands of visitors expected, law enforcement agencies have released important safety protocols to ensure a secure event.

The Syracuse Police Department, along with the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police, will increase patrols around the event, particularly near Hiawatha Boulevard and Solar Street, areas anticipated to experience heavy traffic. According to a joint statement from the agencies, "Reckless behavior on public roads will not be tolerated. Our officers will be out in force to keep roadways safe for participants, spectators, and the community" (New York State Police).

The Syracuse Nationals will feature over 8,000 vintage cars and trucks, live music, food vendors, and other attractions. Attendees are encouraged to respect traffic laws and cooperate with officers throughout the weekend to ensure a safe and successful event (CNY Central).

The show will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Children 12 and under can attend for free, and one-day spectator tickets are available for purchase online (Syracuse Nationals).
