Syracuse motorists should prepare for lane closures on Interstate 81 southbound today (July 10). The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced that the highway will be reduced to one lane between the Interstate 690 off-ramp and Exit 18 (Adams St/Harrison St) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. due to bridge work. According to CNY Central, the construction is weather-dependent and may change based on conditions.

The NYSDOT advises drivers to slow down and be cautious while traveling through construction zones. WSYR-TV also reports that motorists should expect delays and remain vigilant for construction workers.

This lane reduction is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve infrastructure in the area. For more information on traffic updates and future projects, visit the NYSDOT website.
