Middle Eastern Festival Begins in Onondaga Today

The annual Saint Elias Middle Eastern Festival kicks off today (Thursday, July 10) in Onondaga. Hosted by the Saint Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church, the festival will run through Sunday, offering free admission and parking. The event, which has been a local tradition for over 90 years, promises a vibrant celebration of Middle Eastern culture.

Attendees can indulge in a variety of delicious food items, including hummus, falafel, and chicken and beef shawarma. The festival also features a beer and wine tent, along with nightly dancing and live music. The festivities take place at the church located at 4988 Onondaga Road (Route 173) on the West Side of Syracuse.
