Starting today, the Liverpool Central School District (LCSD) is launching its summer meal program, providing free meals to children at several locations. This initiative, funded by the federal government, ensures that children 18 and under can access nutritious meals during the summer months when school is out. Meals must be consumed on-site and cannot be taken home.
The program runs from today (July 7) through August 15 at various sites, including Long Branch Elementary, Chestnut Hill Middle School, and the Morgan Road Complex. Long Branch Elementary offers breakfast from 8:45 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Chestnut Hill Middle serves lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while the Morgan Road Complex provides lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. until August 8. The Soule Road Complex also participates, serving lunch from 12 to 12:30 p.m.
There are no income eligibility or residency requirements, and registration is not needed. The program is designed to support families by ensuring children have consistent access to meals when school-provided meals are unavailable. Parents can find more information, including updates on meal times, on the LCSD website or by contacting the LCSD Food Service Department.
